Rapper T.I. and wife Tiny Harris are divorcing

On Behalf of | Jan 5, 2017 | Child Custody

California residents who are fans of rapper T.I. may be aware that he is going through a divorce from his wife of six years, Tameka ‘Tiny” Harris. Tiny filed the divorce paperwork, noting that her marriage to husband Clifford Harris, known as T.I., was irretrievably beyond repair. Some sources have reported that Tiny may also be seeking an annulment.

Tiny and T.I. were married in 2010 after dating for eight years. The former couple has three children together that were born in 2004, 2008 and 2016. Though the divorce filing took place in late 2016, there have been reports that the couple separated in July of that year. Tiny also made headlines after she was photographed on Halloween spending time with a man who T.I. has had personal problems with.

According to court records, Tiny is seeking sole legal and physical custody of the three children she has with T.I. Tiny is also requesting an order for child and spousal support. If there is a child custody dispute, Tiny’s attorney wrote that the court should appoint a guardian ad litem to evaluate all of the parties involved and determine what arrangement is best for the children.

When the parents of young children are involved in a divorce, the court may have to issue a temporary child custody order that will go into effect immediately. Later on, the permanent child custody order that is issued may contain different terms. However, temporary orders usually set an important precedent, so it is important that a parent has representation from an attorney before they are issued.
